An unpublished interview with Ace Backwords

One of my Facebook friends — a freelance cartoonist — mentioned recently that she’s been getting cartoons published in The Guardian lately. A fairly prestigious gig. Which reminded me. The only time I ever got in The Guardian, I got mentioned once in this article about Hate Man’s passing. Shortly after that, The Guardian reporter contacted me about doing an article about me. So we hooked up and sat down and did a long interview. But The Guardian editor ended up nixing the story. Oh well.

Probably just as well. I gave The Guardian reporter a long and pretty boring interview. She hooked up with me at 9 in the morning — a time when I’m rarely at my best. She should have caught me at night after a couple of 40s of Olde English. I would have had something interesting, and maybe even newsworthy, to say at that point. Ha ha.
