Yep, it’s probably the most common wish among those of us past “a certain age”. Considering that misery loves company (I dunno why, but it is generally true), it should help a little bit to know that zillions of others are, or have been, in the same boat. For instance:
“The thing about life that gets me crazy is that by the time you
learn it all, it’s too late to deal with it. It should be the
other way around. We should be born with all this sense and
